Boardgame Dog

Who am I?

Hello, I’m Nedzhik and I’m a dachshund of many talents. Playing fetch, chewing my toys to death or just chilling with my human companions. Most of all, I love to find a cosy corner to curl up in and catch up on my beauty sleep. My humans tell me I snore something terrible, but how much store can you place in what a human says? After all, they say they love me, but then all I get to eat is dog food!

Stuck inside due to Covid-19, I have decided to start a blog to share my passion for boardgames. Well, my humans play and I help. I’m not sure they consider it helping when I throw my favourite squeaky red ball at them and demand to play fetch just when they are sitting down to a game. However, it takes all sorts; and I am certainly all sorts of fun.

I look forward to making a whole heap of new friends through this blog.

Rruff!

What I do

Multi-tasking

I am great at multi-tasking. Sleeping is always good. But why miss the opportunity to do something else at the same time?

My tips: find a warm place to sleep (in the photo I am in my kitchen; my humans thoughtfully installed underfloor heating so it nice and warm); always keep one nostril open in case anything should hit the floor; be ready to pounce!

Being in charge

Humans are suckers for a sad face.

You can always get whatever you want if you just have the appropriate look. Human scientists have even studied this, so it must be true. If you don’t believe me, check out this article from the New Scientist.

My tip: don’t let your human(s) know about this as it’s Top Secret.

Nurture your human

Humans are fickle creatures. One minute they think you’re the bee’s knees, the next they’re throwing their slipper at you. (And I only gave it a little chew.)

My tip: let them know you need them (they may pretend they don’t appreciate crawling under the furniture to retrieve the toy you deliberately threw there, but it’s all an act).
